It is more important than ever for all of us to support our favorite restaurants when and if we can. Coronavirus has had a negative impact on a large number of industries including the restaurant industry. We had the pleasure of working with one of our favorite restaurants right before the shelter-in-place order was implemented.
The Rusty Pelican is well-known Tampa favorite since 1978. They have always had a relaxing and rustic ambiance in the restaurant. However, they decided it was time to do some modernization to their interior. We feel privileged to have been chosen to renovate such an iconic restaurant in Tampa. Our company worked closely with the Rusty Pelican to create a plan for the painting project which would allow it to be modernized without losing any of its underlying character.
Prep Work!
Preparing a space for paint is the most important step for any painting project. The end result is only as good as the prep work. The crew at Presto Painting Services methodically covered all of the areas where we did not want paint to touch. Taping and prepping is something that cannot be rushed. Everything must be done in a precise and careful manner.

Dark to Light
The dark wood that was throughout was painted with a semi-gloss white paint from Sherwin Williams called Snowbound. Presto Painting Services removed all of the wallpaper, repaired the walls, and then used a light colored primer which really made the room much brighter. The Rusty Pelican has been brought into a new century with all of the changes they have made. They have new tables, chairs, flooring, window treatments, and of course paint. We hope that the work we have been able to contribute to The Rusty Pelican will help it stay in business for another forty plus years.
